‘Playtime’ is for young children – from birth to preschool age – and also very much for their mothers or carers. Playtime is run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 12 noon.
“It is a great way to meet and spend time with other families in the local area”.
“Our children have a chance to develop their social skills and to meet new friends”.
They have access to a wide range of quality toys (suitable for very young ones through to our busy preschoolers), outdoor equipment and craft supplies.
While our kids play, we can relax for a little while and enjoy the supportive company of other mothers and carers.
Each Week...
A typical morning is loosely divided into: outdoor play, morning tea, craft, indoor play and ‘group time’, which includes activities like games, dancing, music and singing.
Morning Tea and Coffee is provided for the adults and drinks are provided for the children. At the Wednesday PlayTime the children are given cheese, biscuits and fruit.
Playtime is held in the Kindergarten Hall behind the church building which fronts onto 9B Arnold Street, Killara. Parking is easiest on Springdale Road, then enter via No. 12. Come along and join the fun!
Coming Events…
What to bring…
Please bring morning tea for your children on Mondays.
There is a contribution each time (per family) either weekly, or per school term that goes towards the provision of more toys and equipment.
St Martin's is committed to the nurture of children within the larger church family as a vital part of their growing to maturity as Christian people. Consequently we endeavour to provide a church environment which is encouraging and supportive of both children and their parents. Our family service is at 9.30am and is where we focus our Children's Ministry.
Special activities are provided for each of three groups, JUMP, TACOS and TRiX. The first two groups start in the Church on Sundays at 9.30am with their families as we believe that it is good for children to gain an idea of what it is that their parents do in church while they are in Children's Church. We endeavour to provide a short talk or drama which is aimed at teaching the central element of the sermon for the day. This occurs about 10 minutes into the service and after the Kid's Spot the children go out to their programmes. All groups run every Sunday during NSW school terms.
