Why join a Bible Study?
We’ve found that as a community and as individuals we benefit most when we’re involved in St Martins’s on a number of levels: in large group meetings (our Sunday services), in smaller groups (Bible studies during the week), and in individual relationships with each other and with God..
Being part of a Bible study group provides opportunities which are not available in Sunday meetings. There is time to study the Bible in greater depth and, because the group is small, everyone can contribute if they want to. This means that the whole group can benefit from the perspectives, experience and knowledge of others.
In addition, Bible study groups provide a relaxed, informal environment for making friends and getting to know other people better. Group members are a support network, praying for each other and helping each other develop deeper and stronger relationships with God. Because we get to know each other, we are also able to help more with the difficulties each of us faces in life.
Christianity Explained
Society today holds many strange ideas about Christianity which distort or mask then wonderful news of Jesus. Christianity Explained presents an opportunity to put these preconceived ideas to one side and go back to the Bible to rediscover afresh the authentic Christian message, and its life-changing relevance for today. The course is a series of six sessions, each comprising a short Bible study and a talk, with the opportunity for discussion. The course is run on a "just-looking" friendly informal basis. There is no pressure to make a commitment, or to have any involvement beyond the course. For more information email James Nodder or contact the Parish Office office@stmartinskillara.org for dates and answers to any questions you may have.
