If a rector dies, retires, is removed from office or resigns, the Nomination Board for the parish nominates to the Archbishop a replacement. The Nomination Board consists of the Bishop or Archdeacon, four persons appointed by the Synod and five Nominators elected at the parish annual general meeting.
Peoples Wardens, most Parish Council members, Parish Nominators and the Honarary Treasurer are elected at the Annual Meeting of the Parish (sometimes called the Annual General Meeting or Annual Vestry Meeting).
To understand your important role as a parishioner voting and participating in the Annual Meeting, consider the information provided by the Sydney Diocesan Secretariat about Annual (Vestry) Meetings.
